I've had my Alienware x51 R2 gaming Pc for just under a year now, and I'm looking now to sell it to afford to build my own pc.

Here are my specs.

Intel Core i7-4770 CPU (3.40GHz)
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760 OEM 1.5GB
1TB HDD
An upgraded dual band wireless adapter.
8GB of RAM
330W power supply

I can sell the item with the original boxing and the computer works perfectly.

Any ideas where I should look to sell the item and how much for?

you could simply upgrade what you have now instead of selling everything (at a loss) and then buying parts that may be similar in performance to what you already have.

You would only need to buy a PSU and a GPU, if any, to upgrade that.

Hi there,

Cheers for answering. I've heard that the motherboard is a slight issue to work with (custom Mini-ITX), and in order to get a new PSU I'd need a new motherboard too.

I need a new case, as the alienware one is too small to home the GTX 970 STRIX, without removing the DVD drive.

With the fact that I would need to purchase a new case, gpu, motherboard and psu I think that selling the alienware is my only viable option. I may be wrong of course, as I've not really looked into the available PSU options for the alienware.

Okay, say we forget it's an alienware... For the parts how much would you value the system at?

Well you can't separate the Alienware brand from the system parts, since Alienware has its own custom cases that some people think looks pretty cool. Partwise you're probably looking at this breakdown:

CPU - $300
GPU - $200 (depreciated)
HDD - $60
RAM - $80
Case - $50
PSU - $30
NIC - $30

Total: $750

those are just my price estimates, but simply for the brand name you could be able to get more for your build

Just checked the U.K Ebay site, and similar builds to mine are going for anything from £600 to £700 ($940 to $1100)

Hopefully, I can get this kind of return on my pc :)

Cheers for the help. Is there anywhere other than eBay you'd recomend to sell my item?

Alright, I'll set a minimum sale price of $850 to attract buyers and see what happens :)

Yes, all of the previously sold machines were used or "refurbished". I didn't take notice of the refurbished ones however, as they've been tested and under-gone maintainence by professionals.

Say I put it up and it sells for a price that I'm not happy with, do I own the right to withdraw my item from the site? (Obviously, without stealing the other person's money.)
