Add to that, reference 2ndhand price point:

i5 2500 + AIO cooling + GTX1060 + 16GB DDR3 + FD Define R3 for ~675 AUD.
This would outclass OP's FX build in gaming any day.

i5 3570 +8GB DDR3 + 256GB SSD ~ 460 AUD; or 510AUD for 16GB DDR3.
For your 700AUD suggestion, there're plenty of GPU upgrade for this 460/510AUD build to outshine OP's FX build value.
When even the higher tier SKU, eight cores FX-8370, basically loses to the cheapo dual cores G4560 in gaming:

what value is there for people to look at a 700 AUD, EOL, six cores FX build?
When you do sell 2ndhand, they're based solely on people's perception of how valuable the thing you're putting on sale and AM3/AM3+ is both EOL, out of warranty and is an extremely undesirable platform in the eyes of many PC people. OP would have to dupe some computer novice to sell his PC at 700AUD.
Just as I got my i5 3470 2nd for roughly the same price as a new G4560, there's little reason for anyone to be looking for a 2ndhand PC to look at a FX build when i5 Sandy/Ivy bridge are in the same price range.
