[SOLVED] How much is too much?

I'm in the process of OC a i9-10850k and am stable at 5ghz @1.36V and 73C.

I'm tempted to try to push it to 5.1ghz but frankly I'm not sure where the wall is voltage wise. A 15 minute realbench stress test using 8gb of RAM with no AVX offsets and I peak at 73C so temps seem reasonable which is why I'm considering pushing on to 5.1ghz.

Any idea how much voltage is too much for an everyday machine? I'm not trying to OC my way into a benchmark queen.

Or until it crashes.

What is the overall goal?
To reach the highest GHz number for bragging rights?
Or to reach the highest stable GHz number?
Or to get actual 'better' performance?

It's not to be a benchmark queen so I could care less about what the ultimate number turns out to be.

So a combination of 2 and 3 I suppose. Hopefully the highest stable GHz number will give me some sort of noticeable performance gain that'll be noticeable. If not I've wasted my time and $ buying a K model.

That said I will run benchmarks on it but only to see if what I'm doing is having any effect at all other than getting a bigger GHz number. If it turns out I've got to crank in 1.4+V and it amounts to 1-2 FPS in the games I play and no noticeable improvement I'm quite happy backing down the OC but I'll defintely feel as if I tossed some $ away on a K.

Thank you @Phaaze88. That's exactly the information I was hoping to find.

So far I've been able to get this i9-1850k to 5.2Ghz all cores w/ a -2 AVX offset @1.375V that spikes to 83c but is typically 74-77c. I'm comparing that to a 5GHZ all cores with no AVX offset @ 1.36 that spikes to 73c but is generally between 68-71c.

Going to play with them for a bit and if I can't tell any difference between them I'll stick with the 5.0GHz OC. No sense in dumping more voltage and generating more heat if I can't tell any difference between the 2 OC's. There's about ~160 points difference between them when I run Realbench but real world I don't think it's going to be noticeable at all.
