How much of a bottle neck is i3 4160 for RX 480 4 GB ?

well first off there will be a bottleneck of the 480 by a noticeable amount, noticeable, not huge but if your not playing cpu intensive games you should be fine for now but id opt for an option for a upgrade soon, maybe you can upgrade to a 4690 soon and that would be a good combo for your 480

as a note id like to try to convince you that the 1060 is a much better idea than a 480

to start the 1060 is faster than the 480, i dont care what others say its a fact, the 1060 is faster than a 480 but it does come at around 20$ more than a 480 but in my opinion i think its a good deal for 20ish dollars.

second, depending what you buy it from the stock 480 cooler is around 7-10 decibels louder than a 1060, opt that out if your going with a custom board

third the tdp for the 1060 is 30 watts lower but idk if in your eyes 30 tdp is much but that depends on what psu you have and on the side note the 480 cant overclock as much as the 1060 can if your into that overclocking thing

and fourth the thermal output for the 480 is higher than the 1060 by around 5-10ish degrees which in my opinion makes it a much less attractive option.

Sorry mate, I can't go with the 1060, I've just been waiting way too much to get a good GPU to run games that I've been dying to play, and with a little overclock it could even beat the 1060.
Although I really appreciate your answer and I will be looking to buy a more powerful CPU in the future.

I wouldnt use the word struggle but i would say now that 2017 is comming up that you might start to see the 4160 fall behind quite a bit

I3's aren't really for big games. There great if your a MMOG's as the server handle most of the things the CPU would handle, office work and casual games.

My old i3 laptop could play EVE online on high settings with HD 3000 60fps no problem which was good.

well of course they arn't as good as the i5s but i feel that a 2 core (4 if you take hyperthreading into account) cpu would be good enough to hold a 480 and keep in mind that the 4160 can even beat a 8350 in games!! dont let the lable of an i3 fool you even an i3 6100 beats the 8350 in games

I already said I can't get a better one and that I'll buy a more powerful soon, why do you just have to say that one of my parts are bad when I am satisfied with them and will upgrade when the need actually arises? And then say if you were me you'd add a couple of more dollars and buy that other shit more powerful.. Stop being stupid and answer what I want you to as long as you bother commenting.
