How much of a bottleneck would an X3450 be with a GTX 1060 or 1070?

Hi,

Looking to upgrade an older PC for as cheap as possible.

The motherboard is LGA1156 socket and I don't want to change it, so I am looking at putting an X3450 cpu in it as they are very cheap to get hold of.

I'm just wondering how much of a bottleneck would the stock Xeon X3450 be with a GTX 1060 or 1070? I mainly play PUBG, and I know it's not greatly optimised currently so wondering if it would be pretty severe on that.

The motherboard does not support overclocking so stock speeds are all I would be able to run at.

Thanks in advance!

Fairly big - that generation has fairly slow single-core speed.

You'd be better off with a higher-clocked i7-8xx if anything. But for $60-70 like the Ebay prices for those, I don't think I could justify spending $ on it though when you could do so much better for a little more $ if you'd replace the board too.

Thanks for replying.

I guess I will save money and not bother upgrading that PC. It was my first PC and wanted to keep it going but really is pointless spending any money if it will bottleneck a GTX 1060 (which I currently have on order).

You've saved me some money as had almost bought an x3450 and 16gbs or ram, so thanks!
