How much of a performance gain will I get upgrading to a RX 480 or 470 both 4gb since in my microcenter store has like a 5-10 dollar difference.

I'm pairing it with a i3 6100.

I only have $200 to spend for a new guy.
I will be gaming in 1080p targeting at high to ultra presets.

your cpu is not fast enough for ultra

borderline on high

you need an i5 to pair with a 480

it should support an i5 7500 after a mobo bios update

double check mobo cpu compatability list
Going from GTX 1050 Ti to RX 480 is about 75% increase in performance (http://gpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Nvidia-GTX-1050-Ti-vs-AMD-RX-480/3649vs3634).

The RX 480 is one of the top cards in 1080p/60Hz/Ultra gaming. I'd highly suggest if budget permits to get the 8GB version for more VRAM.

However, your i3-6100 is a relatively weak CPU compared to the graphics power of the RX 480. Your CPU **might** bottleneck the highest possible performance of the GPU especially in CPU-intensive games. Though if you are looking to upgrade your CPU in the future (to, say, an i5 or i7), then it would be the best pairing.

You can get the RX 480 8GB version (instead of the 4GB, for more VRAM) for about ~$200:
