Hello,
How can I determine how big a power supply I will need for my new build?

My Rig
Processor: AMD 3.5 GHz AM3+ FX 8320 8 Core Piledriver
Graphic Card: ZOTAC NVIDIA GeForce GTX 650 Ti Boost 2 GB GDDR5
Ram: Corsair Vengeance DDR3 4 GB (1 x 4 GB) [2 sticks]
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-78LMT-USB3
Hard Drive: WD Blue WD10EZEX 1 TB

let's see..
a system equipped with
CPU: Intel Core i7-3960X @ 4.3GHz
Motherboard: EVGA X79 SLI
Hard Disk: Samsung 470 (256GB)
Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws DDR3-1867 4 x 4GB (8-10-9-26)
and GTX 650 Ti Boost

only consume less than 290w for total power consumption while in gaming..

and 256w for total power consumption while stressed with furmark..

So, at least a good 400w++ psu from well known brand (antec, corsair, seasonic, fsp etc) is more than enough for your system and still have plenty headroom for other parts..

for example, corsair cx430..

bigger quality psu always better..
if you can afford tx650, then it's good..

i've just show you the minimum psu that you should take..:)

well, actually 500w psu is enough for any system single gpu setup..
650w is a psu for dual card configuration..
