i've tried various calculators and reading threads but still couldn't get an answer.

i plan to build a system with i5 6500, 16gb ram, 1x ssd, 1x hdd, 1x gtx 950 oc or r7 370 oc.
i might want to OC my cpu and gpu at some point.
So how much power do i need bare MINIMUM? Can you recommend a cheap but reliable psu?
thank you

Solution
You're fine with a 400W here, but it's recommended to get something with more headroom for the future.

There are many good alternatives at the 500W range, but also many bad ones. How much are you willing to spend?
I can list three different prices for three different PSU's, all of good quality.

Low-budget: https://pcpartpicker.com/part/antec-power-supply-vp450
The Antec VP series are decent. Much better than everything else at its price, but recommended to go with something a bit better.

The G2 series from EVGA are probably the best consumer PSU's today, if you factor in the value. This 550W unit scored a perfect 10/10 on JonnyGURU.com, one of the best sites for PSU reviews.

Solution
You need 450 watts. I would go with at least a 550 watt PSU however. These are all more power than you need, but just happened to hit a good price point:

I can't find a lot of information on the Thermaltake, but I think it is probably pretty good. The SeaSonic S12II 520W would be fine too. I either missed it or it was more expensive my first look through.

Well i'm on a very limited budget though i do want something energy efficient. Actually I was eyeing that very same seasonic psu myself so i guess i'll take it. Thank you for your answers!
