How much power do RGB LED strips use?

It takes a lot of leds to use a noticable amount of power. Adding LED strips to your PC will not max out your power supply because chances are if you were already stressing your psu that much you would already be having problems.

18 Leds in the kit, so yeah I know I'm getting near the end of my power supply limit, and its not very quality either :/ Time for a upgrade i guess...

What I meant was I wouldn't worry about it. If each one of those LEDs used 100 milliamps of power, that's a lot for an led by the way, the strip would only use 1.6 watts total. What kind of power supply do you have?

Corsair VS550

Well the whole reason I was asking was because my computer has been crashing after playing games for a while and I thought it might be my PSU

Some times the screen goes all like this http://imgur.com/jx4wWkp and a loud staticy sorta sound plays, some times the screen just goes black. Both times the computer stays powered on. Specs: I5 4400, 8Gb Hyper X fury 1886 MHZ, Asus B85M-G, 2TB seagate HDD, Corsair VS550, Gigabyte R9 280X

No only when gaming, after like 30 mins or so

Try re-installing the GPU drivers. It sounds like either the drivers are crashing after playing for awhile or your card is overheating. Make sure you completely uninstall the old drivers and then install the new ones. AMD recommends against installing new drivers over top of old ones.

Okay thank you very much, I will try this. I don't think the GPU is overheating because I was constantly checking temps and they seemed fine
