Hello all;
i am in a dilema concerned with PSU's and will be adding a 2nd one outside my rig to power my GPU, does anyone know How much power(W) a Gainward GTX 570 Phantom use?
All contributions will be highly appreciated, thankyou.

Keep in mind, the power numbers listed there are for the whole system, not just the graphics card, and probably won't accurately represent your own system's hardware. They are also being measured at the wall socket, so the power that the actual components are drawing from the PSU will likely be 10-20% lower than their numbers, depending on the efficiency of the PSU in their test system. As such, it's not the best way to estimate how much power the card might be drawing from the PSU.

According to Nvidia, the maximum power draw of a GTX 570 should be around 219 watts, and they recommend a 550 watt PSU for a system containing one. How many watts is your system's existing power supply? Using a second PSU outside the system is not really recommended.

i currently have a 300W psu and wont be able to upgrade it, nut i have a working other 300 psu hopint to add it externally as my only option. my current setup draws 290w from the existing psu, so i'd only use the second psu for the gpu.
