How much RAM do I need to get the most out of my system?

Hey guys, I built a brand-new PC back in December/January. However, I have concerns about the amount of RAM in my system.

My components:

I've watched a lot of YouTube about how they can get over 100 FPS on Fortnite with a Ryzen 5 1600 and a 1060 6gb, while I'm stuck at 60 FPS. Just wondering whether or not I have too little RAM.

Thanks

Solution
expanding on what WildCard999 said, Vsync prevents screen tearing by limiting FPS to 60 (in order to match the 60hz refresh rate of your monitor)
Turning vsync off will allow your computer to run at its max FPS, this can make games a little more responsive but cause screen tearing. (not really a problem)

for games like fortnite you shouldnt need more than 8gb of RAM. although for more demanding games some are beginning to recommend having 16. To check if you need more RAM have task manager open while gaming, if ram usage reaches 100% than you should get more RAM

Your monitor is holding you back. Have a look for a good 144Hz 1080p one, and connect it up using a nice DVI-D lead, such as the ones from StarTec. Plenty of nice, well looked after, used ones around in the 22-24" range these days. My BenQ 24" one was £120 nearly 2 years ago second hand, still prefect now while moderate gaming. If you can / want to, stick some more RAM in too, always backs everything up nicely. Nice PSU by the way! ;)
