How much ram for Photoshop CC?

Is 4 gigs of ram enough for Photoshop CC and to run Windows 8.1?

Photoshop CC requires 2.5 GB with Windows being a Resource hog 4 GB is tight, 8 GB is more than enough since Photoshop CC doesn't have increased memory usage over Photoshop .... You choose how much RAM to allow it to grab.

PS is a mem monster, it will use as much as you throw at it.
It all comes down to the style of work you will be doing and file sizes
ex: a multi layer project with 50mb+ size files will need more than light retouching.
in any case for non professional work 8gb is becoming the standard.
I do some heavy duty work so I needed 32gb .
*JUST REMEMBER, FOR PHOTOSHOP THE PROCESSOR IS THE MAIN PART USED*

My pc crashed once on me while I was working on a photo.

It wasn't too much data. Just putting text on the photo and resizing it.

Sorry to hear that, it wouldn't be the first time it's happened to me either. except I was using 3GB RAM on a shitty laptop with a 1.3ghz dual core processor XD
