Hello! My laptop is 64 bit and have 4 gb ram installed and does have 1 more slot available so I thought of getting another ram for that slot. And I just used crucial.com to search for compatible rams for my laptop and it showed me two 8gb available ram compatible. But i'm still now sure of how much ram my laptop can have? https://prnt.sc/ilmdj4 In this picture, it shows maximum memory ram is at 8gb, so does that mean my laptop can only have of 8 gb ram?

Again, I have 4 gb installed. Can I add 8 gb ram? So it will be 12 gb ram? Is that possible? Thank you

1. I found that crucial.com is not entirely accurate with laptop memory capacity.
2. the manual of your laptop located at https://www.asus.com/Laptops/X450LD/HelpDesk_Manual/ shows how to upgrade the ram, but fails to indicate how much it can handle.
3. Dell specification page https://www.asus.com/Laptops/X450LD/specifications/ shows
Memory: DDR3L 1600 MHz SDRAM, 1 x SO-DIMM socket for expansion up to 8 GB SDRAM

so if you have 4gb you can add 1x4gb extra

hehe blackbird, I have them suggest ram that in fact did not run on the laptop at all a few times, like everyone experiences, people have preferences, mine is to not rely on a 3rd party single source, when dell provides the information at the manufacturing level.

besides the exercise I did , shows other OP, ways to find information easily. :)

I actually have asus x452l 64-bit but crucial showed me a model of x450l instead..And i'm not sure if that's really my laptop's maximum capacity since it's a different model..then I guess I'll stick with adding just 4gb ram so I'll get an 8 gb ram. Since I'm really not sure if I can add 8 gb ram so i''ll get a total of 12 gb. Ughhh 🙁 I appreciate all of your answers. Thank you!
