How much ram?

I am planning to build a PC for gaming but I don't know how much ram to buy. I will get an RX 480 and a ryzen r5 1500x thanks.

If you are budget minded, purchase one 8GB stick, and plan to purchase an IDENTICAL stick later when you can afford it. 8GB is the minimum but 16GB is useful. Once you make the junk to 16GB, your system will start to use more ram. I regularly find Windows using 8GB + in my 25GB system. It will use what you give it.
