Hi guys, I'm finalizing my first build and will soon be installing Windows 8.1. I will be installing the OS and frequently used applications on a 256 GB Samsung Pro SSD, with a 1GB Caviar black as the primary data drive. I was just wondering if you could share how much space I should partition for the OS? Is it even necessary to partition the SSD with this setup? If so, please share your experience and how much space you this is a safe amount for the OS partition. I'm a Noob.

Thanks in Advance

No partition needed.

Partitioning used to be a good concept when drive space was really expensive. Have the OS in one partition, and other stuff in other partitions. If an OS install is needed, the other stuff in the other partitions isn't affected.

Today, with cheap drive space, just use separate drives.
