How Much Thermal Paste Do I Use

I have an i7- 4790k and a Hyper 212 Evo cpu cooler and Arctic Silver 5 thermal paste and I was wondering how much thermal paste do I apply do the cpu I've seen people do a small line down the cpu and I have also seen people do pea sized dots I am unsure about how much to apply.

pea method for me. generally the less you use the better.

I have the same cpu and paste and get 70C at 4.5ghz overclcoked full load using Intel Extreme Tuning Utility stress test.

What I do is put a tiny pea sized dot of paste on than use a plastic bag to spread it around. Than put on cooler and it will spread some more. Make sure everything is clean.

Remember you need very little paste just enough for a thin coat over the majority of the cpu. I'm not an expert. You can find guides on this website for applying paste.

It's called the Pea size but it's more like a grain of rice. I'm a proponent of that as well.
