The main reason is to stop the two fans, they are very very loud, the second reason is to reduces risk of the red ring.

I am looking for reducing my xbox to silence (without a hammer :p ). There are a fan kit that is advise by people who change their xbox to reduce heat but not to reduse the noise.

I'm not rich enough to by a wc only for the xbox (unless there is a system wc that cost less than 100€ :p ) ,but if it could be use for both, but Conumdrum is saying no.

Thanks for the anwser

Zalman reserator is a horrible WC solution...not effective. Might work OK for the XBOX only, but I can't see it being viable in any PC cooling solution. Besides, with a setup like that, you always have to have both systems sitting right next to each other. There are much better WC solutions available...most of them require reading and understanding of what is the best for each component you have and the design of the overall setup.

@ overshocked : my coputer stays connected to the web to download some "legal data" so it's on but not used as if i play.

@ rubix : to bad for me i have already boght the zelman, but if you have some example to another WC i still be interested

i have boght my zelman to quick, now i used it only for my cpu cause it can not be mounted on the video card (geforce 8800 gtx), so if i had the waterblock for the xbox i may have try but i can't :p

So if anyone have an idea to replace the fan for xbox by any cheap wc of anything else don't hesitate a lot of people are looking for a solution.

thanks

WC an Xbox isn't cheap. $250 or so. It's the special block that costs. Seen it, have no link for it. It covers the CPU and GPU. Over $100. Rad $40 Pump $60 Res $25. Hose etc $25.

It was shown at PDX Lan 14, in Portland last week. I'll try to get more block info

You can do it, I'd just suggest a second radiator to help deal with temps, since coolant can hold heat for a long time after stabilising.

As for corrosion in a mixed-metal system, use car antifreeze and follow the directions.

EDIT: I hate typos...

I've been thinking about the Corsair H50 for my Xbox. Zipzoomfly.com has them for $75. I had the E74 error, which I thought I had fixed but now instead of an error code I get junk graphics after playing for 5 minutes. My one year warranty expired a week before I got the E74 code. So instead of paying MS $99 to fix it, I thought I'd try myself (then a month later they extend the warranty to three years for the E74 code, arrrg!). I replaced the heat sink clamps with screws, cleaned off the old thermal paste, put new paste on. I am too dumb to just give up and buy an Arcade, I guess. Thats my sob story. I'll post up results, if I get the Corsair H50.......

oh, going to use a pc power supply in the xbox, to power the xbox & cooler
