I just built my wife a beast of a gaming computer (she complained about her old one compared to mine). I really need some advice on an UPS for her. I do NOT need/want to continue once power has failed. I DO want the UPS to deal with surges, line fluctuations and turn her box off when the power has failed.
She has: (Quite drooling folks, I had to teach summer school to get this.) sabertooth Z97 MB, 2 SSD, 1 2TB hard drive, nvidia GTX980, dvd burner, all powered by a 850 watt Power supply. That outta keep her happy for a few years.
My initial thought was I did not need a big one since I was not planning on any work when the power is out. Something like... 20 seconds of power failure ... initiate shutdown on her box. I thought as long as it protected the power + USB + ethernet then she would be ok but reading the companies specs is confusing the heck outta me.
Any help would be appreciated
