HI,

How would I go about working out how much power my PC uses?

How do I know if I need a 550w PSU or if a 450w PSU will do?

Here is my System:

Gigabyte 8I875
1 GB Kingston HyperX DDR PC3200 RAM
256MB Nvidia BFG GeForce 6800 ULTRA OC 256MB
74GB Westen Digital 10,000 RPM ATA 8MB Cache
250GB Maxtor Hard Drive 7200RPM IDE ATA 133 8MB Cache
120GB Samsung Hard Drive 7200RPM ATA 133 8MB Cache
2 DVD Optical Drives
Floppy Drive

what is the easiest way to find out?

also is there any kind of guides on this stuff because it is the only area I am really crap on. I want to understand more about the POwer a PC needs and about the voltage shown when you go into a PC's bios, what is that all about?

This should help you size your PSU:
