I have got my fx 6300 to @4ghz with my voltage at 1.25.Is this bad?If I go any higher the voltage bar goes pinkish. Please let me know if this is ok.

Solution
Well for FX processors I would say amd overdrive's thermal margins are the most accurate. HWmonitor also works but I found it only to be accurate once the cpu starts to heat up. In hwmonitor you want to keep cpu package temp below 62c, in overdrive you want the thermal margin to stay above 0c.
What motherboard? I use to run my old 6300 at 1.45v 4.8ghz, did so for about 4 years, still works today. So yes the CPU can handle that voltage no problem, it's your motherboard I would worry about. My old board didn't complain about vcore voltage until I went past 1.5v.

My motherboard is a gigabyte gigabyte GA-78LMT-USB3.

Not really an ideal board for overclocking, it has a pretty weak 4 phase VRM. I wouldn't push voltage much past where you have it or you could risk throttling or possibly damaging the VRM on the mobo.

So should I keep 4ghz with 1.25 voltage?or should I keep going up with the ghz to see when my system will crash so I know the max ghz?

Alrighty,so I can keep it @4ghz with 1.25 voltage?

If temps are doing okay. I would personally rig up a fan so it blows air down onto the VRM just to be safe. Might not be necessary though.

My cpu fan has 4 heat sync pipes. And in msi afetrburner I have turned it up to 75.How can I check my temps accurately? Some things display temps different to others. What is a trusted temp reader?

I think you'll be allright with those settings. As Dunlop0078 said put a fan over the vrm to keep them fresh, just to be cautious.

What is the vrm 😛

I circled the vrm in this photo.

My friend loves doing extreme OCs and he got his to 5.4 on 1.72 Vcore.

I wouldn't waste money on FX platform since it's already dead, I would go with ryzen.
But if you don't have money to change your entire system and really want to stay on am3+, gigabyte 970a-ud3p rev2.0 is a great motherboard and will allow you to oc a fx-6300 to 4.5ghz easily. By the way you'll need a proper cooler to keep safe temps while ocing.

WOW 1.72vcore is really unsafe for fx chips, I guess it's not your friends main pc and he wants to push the fx for fun.

Yeah he has a lot of money to burn and he has a test bench where he does extreme OCs.
