So i want to buy a new video card to play on my 2650 X 1600 screen. I want to play games in the future on that resolution on high to medium setings.
But i dont know how much Vram that will use.
So how much VRAM should i get?

Solution
For that resolution, the most you can afford. For the price of a video card to play games that may be coming out in the future at higher settings, the card will have enough RAM to handle it. You would want at least an R9-280X which I think has 3 gig of RAM standard. NVidia 970 or AMD R9 290 will be even better, and you will likely need those for High settings at 1600 resolution.

You will need at least a GTX960 or the R9 280 for playable frame rates which is about 30-45 fps in medium settings. For medium to high settings get the GTX 970 or the upcoming R9 300 series. If you cant wait the R9 290 is a very good option.

I agree with all the others but also if you can find a used 7950 or 7970 they do pretty well. The 7950 can be found for around 100 bucks if you search around and has 3gbs of vram. I run 2 in crossfire and haven't had 1 issue
