Im on a pretty tight budget here, so this is what I've got:
Cpu: Intel i5 7400
Gpu: Rdeon r7 260x
Motherboard: Asus Prime h270m plus
Ram: Ddr4 Fury Hyper X 8gb
Hdd: WD blue 500gb
One DVD-Rw optical drive

First of all before I buy these, are they all compatible?
And my second question is: How big of a psu will I need to run this? Im mostly going to use it for gaming.

1| Pick up a B250 chipset motherboard.
2| Make sure the DDR4 ram you're looking at is rated to run at 2400MHz.
3| You'll need a 500W PSU made by a reliable brand off this tier list. Choosing a unit that is as close to Teir 1 as possible.

Where you located and how much can you spend on a PSU? Oh and you forgot the case to house your parts. If you can find a Coolermaster N200, that should fit the build nicely!

Those parts are compatible. What case are you using/getting?

You only need 400 watts if the PSU is a reliable model. The Seasonic S12II 430 is a good choice on a budget.

Im using a ThermalTake v3 blackto house it all.I think its best if I go a bit out of my budget for a 500w psu

400w is more then plenty for your old 260x but I would still get a 500-550w model so you can support a much better GPU in the future.

Seasonic S12 520 is often the best quality bang for buck. Corsair CX550 would be next best bang for buck.
