How much wattage will I need?

I am rebuilding my server. Currently it is running a 450watt psu which is more than enough, however, I am adding and upgrading a few things.

Upgrades are as follows

AMD FX-8320E
16GB DDR3 1600 have not decided on 2x8 or 4x4

4 3TB 7200 RPM HDDs
1 320GB SSD
1 5TB 5900 RPM HDD
1 500GB 5400 2.5" HDD

Asus M5a78 Mobo

4 fans.

no video as it is a server and it is used for plex and backups. .

every site I have used shows 250-400

I need something a bit more accurate.

I was thinking the same thing, just was not sure. Current setup:

Processor : Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5410 @ 2.33GHz Quad core x2

Memory : 16382MB(13312) DDR2

Mother Board : TYAN-Tempest-i5000VS-S5372-LC/LH

1 250GB 7200rpm

1 3TB 7200 rpm

1 5tb 5900 rpm

1 500GB 540 rpm


Server is on 24/7, all my other machines backup to this one, it also is used for my Plex server. I need more cpu power, faster ram, and more HDDs.

I may need to upgrade the PSU, it is an Antec VP-450, it was bought because the usage currently is very low, I will have to monitor total wattage to be sure but it is usually up for a week at a time without reboots.

It's not a great PSU , you could upgrade to a higher quality unit in the future when the usage goes up.
