How much watts do I need "gtx 970 g1"

2*4gb ram @ 1333hz
seagate 1tb hdd
dvd
gigabyte gtx 970 g1

i already have a 500w psu but im worried that it will damage the parts.

any recommendations?

No bro, Nvidia GTX 970 Gigabyte G1 Edition needs a minimum 500 Watts PSU with 30 amperes. But I recommend you to buy a 650 watts PSU for handling overall rig. Good Luck bro.

i have another question, do you think the 970 g1 will bottleneck with the i5 3550?

Where did you get 550w and 30A from? The card is a 145w part so that works out to 12.08A and Nvidia recommend a 500w PSU.

No, your processor won't bottleneck it as it is GTX 970. It would bottleneck a GTX 980 in highly graphics intensive games.

Just used Power supply calculator, works out at about 375W at 100% load. Over estimated fans, and Usb devices plugged in. You have plenty of extra juice in a 500w supply
