How much will a AMD 8350 bottleneck a GTX 980

I am looking to buy a GTX 980 but my CPU is only a AMD 8350 will this bottleneck it massively?

Depends highly on the game.. Some it will bottleneck quite a bit and others not so much. Google the benchmarks for more info.

i looked into some bench marks and it seems like it wont bottleneck it at all

It won't bottle neck the GPU, but games can bottle neck it, because sometimes games can't utilise all of it's cores. This won't be a problem for you, those people still live in the past.
