Well, my computer is some sort of mega pc in the gaming industry. Lets look at the specs.

GPU: GTX 770
CPU: FX 8350 - 4.0 Ghz
PSU: X-Viper 750 watt
Motherboard: Sabertooth 990fx 2.0
Ram; 16gb corsair
Barracuda 2tb HDD
Case; NZXT Phantom 410
Standard cooling system.

Not using computer enough - use my macbook for surfing the internet now so no need for such a big mighty machine ( all parts on the computer are brand new about 2-3 months old

Solution
There is no chance that you will get anything like 1100-1300 for it. You could build it new for less. Of course your best bet it is part it out in which case you will probably get 15-25% less than what you paid for each part.

The PSU is VERY low quality and junk. This will take away value.

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant / Benchmarks

CPU: AMD FX-8350 4.0GHz 8-Core Processor ($179.00 @ Amazon)
Motherboard: Asus Sabertooth 990FX ATX AM3+ Motherboard ($199.98 @ OutletPC)
Memory: PNY XLR8 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($116.98 @ Amazon)
Storage: Seagate Barracuda 2TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($84.63 @ OutletPC)...

You could probably squeeze 1100-1300 out of it. I would post it as 1400 and give yourself some room to negotiate. Of course this in SLC, Utah. Check your area on craigs list or local classifieds and see what they're going for.

Here you go, 975 dollars NEW without the junk PSU which is pretty worthless anyway. You can probably expect to get about 800 max for this computer, but don't be surprised if no one offers you anything over 750.

People browsing local classifieds aren't as smart as you. You're right though you wouldn't pay that much for it because you're going to fact check it, most people are dumb and lazy. If you post what games it will play and use good language. And put right in the add that you're in a hurry to sell and willing to negotiate. People will pay more if you anchor the bargaining point higher.

I know this, but NO ONE looking to spend $800+ on a computer will pay more than what it costs new. I have sold multiple systems and while yes people are ignorant, no one is that blatantly stupid. Sorry, even selling to the uneducated public, I would not expect over $900.

■ You're like the least cynical computer tech ever. People are so blatantly stupid. How many people pay 100 dollars for jeans just because they're 100 dollars. Or 150 dollars for sneakers just because there is stupid Nike symbol. Dude people are way stupid. Anchoring, branding, and the right language short circuits peoples brains all the time.
