How often is it that liquid coolers leak?

Just wanted to add, that in the event of a pump failure, your PC will reach danger-zone temps and shut itself off before any damage can be done. The system shouldn't get hot enough for the heat to cause a leak.

I do agree that if you are not overclocking heavily, it is best to just stick to air.

I've herd so many horror stories of people's liquid cooling solutions leaking. But, I need the performance of liquid cooling. I don't know what to do

But I want to overclock I want to get my 4790k to 4.8 or something

If you really feel you need to overclock that much and need the liquid cooling then you take the risk that comes with it. You can't get a guarantee from anyone here that it will never fail or leak.

Let me put it this way, I felt the same way you do now before I actually installed my liquid cooling. Here I am now, never had a problem. If you really want to overclock heavily, get the water cooling. If it is going to cause you to lose sleep, then don't.

There will always be horror stories, but for every one horror story there are hundreds of success stories.

mines never leaked

and i have 2 pumps in case one fails

each to their own--some like liquid cooling--no great lump of metal hanging off the motherboard

and in my opinion a good loop also looks better than an air cooler

but it costs more than air cooling and does have a leak/pump failure potential

there pluses and minuses for both air/water cooling
