It's more likely to have a pump failure than a leak, but leaks are not out of the question. Unless you are overclocking heavily, liquid cooling is not necessary. A good quality tower air cooler will do the job just fine.

Just wanted to add, that in the event of a pump failure, your PC will reach danger-zone temps and shut itself off before any damage can be done. The system shouldn't get hot enough for the heat to cause a leak.
I do agree that if you are not overclocking heavily, it is best to just stick to air.

But I want to overclock I want to get my 4790k to 4.8 or something

If you really feel you need to overclock that much and need the liquid cooling then you take the risk that comes with it. You can't get a guarantee from anyone here that it will never fail or leak.
Let me put it this way, I felt the same way you do now before I actually installed my liquid cooling. Here I am now, never had a problem. If you really want to overclock heavily, get the water cooling. If it is going to cause you to lose sleep, then don't.
There will always be horror stories, but for every one horror story there are hundreds of success stories.
