How often should yo replace a Motherbord?

I have been using a Asusp8z77 V LX since late june and have not had any problems yet. I would like to know when you should replace your MB??? People say that if you have a deffective MB it will show in the first 3 months. How long before I need to buy another one, I do want t get one with more PCI-E 3.0x16 slots And I did not know it at the time but my Board is not SLI compatible, on the site of the store it said it was and I did not notice this until I looked at the Asus site.

You replace your motherboard when it breaks, you want some feature your current one doesn't have, or you upgrde your cpu to a new socket.

No reason to replace the motherboard unless it is faulty or you are upgrading your CPU to something the board doesn't support. Just clean your computer out every now and again and the parts should last a long time.
