How safe is to use unfused multimeter to check 220v ac?

I have a DT830B multimeter without fuse.

What's the most common thing that can happen if I meter 220v AC for just a few seconds?

Remember to check from live to ground and not live to neutral, that way you won't blow your meter up.

You mean to connect black wire to the ground instead of neutral/other outlet?

Red probe -> live
Black probe -> ground
