How should I transport my desktop computer?

In two days I will be driving ,cross country, to visit family for a few weeks, but I have run into an interesting problem. My desktop. How am I supposed to move this thing without breaking anything? I am still using the stock heat sink/CPU cooler, my graphics card is an XFX 7870, and my case is the Corsair 200R ATX Mid Tower Case. At the very least I am going to take out my disk drive and hard drive and transport them in a shoe box filled with bubble wrap. Is there anything else I have to worry about?

Solution
As long as that sucker is in it's case you will be fine. I would feel safer with the hard drive and disk drive attached to the case than in a shoe box, far less chance of it getting squished. Besides you have a higher chance of the hard drive getting damaged from shaking if its actually running, when it's turned off the head is docked so it shouldn't scratch the disks.

I have moved my computer around a ton of times and at first I placed it in its box with it's little cushions but now I just throw it in the car and it has never given me a problem. (Not literally throw) Don't stress over moving it, as long as it's in the case you will be fine.

Are you sure i shouldn't take out my graphics card? Other sites I looked at say that you should lay your PC on its side, but I figure this is probably just for people with large heat sinks.

I drove from Kansas to Alaska with my desktop stuffed into a box surrounded by clothes in covered bed of my truck, the case was laying on its side. It made the trip fine, and I guarantee I drove on worse roads than what you'll see! Good luck!

The worst I've had happen is the RAM getting a little loose. Just had to pop it out and back in. And that was a 300 mile trip. Short hops don't seem to be an issue for most systems.

Discs drives are rated for quite high G Loads when they are off, shouldn't need to take it out of the case.

btw, do you have any suggestions on how I can transport my display?

Check out the link to FrozenCPU.com that I provided, that gives you some options for bags that will transport system as well as displays.
