[SOLVED] How should I upgrade a 5 year old system for decent gaming over 30 fps on AAA titles

My system has an i5 3450 , 4gb DDR3 ram and a Nvidia GTX 610m.
I was wondering if I should just get another 4gb DDR3 stick to dual channel it to 8 . ( Will it run games from 2014 to 2018-2019ish , because I haven't played since then and if only the ram upgrade will do that much then I'll just upgrade the ram) or should I upgrade the GPU cus it's a major bottleneck but if I make a considerable upgrade for substantial results then maybe the CPU will bottleneck (I have an Asus H61 MC which maybe will be needed to also be upgraded for CPU and GPU upgrades I guess ?)

I think you can definitely gain a lot with a GPU and memory upgrade.
I would go to 8 GB....and a GPU in the neighborhood of a GTX 1050....or a GTX 1050.
I wouldn't go much higher than a GTX 1050 with that CPU....but I think it can definitely handle a GTX 1050.

a 610M is a mobile GPU? assuming the "M" element was a typo?

I'd say 8GB and something like an RX570* would be a solid pairing for modern 1080p gaming, even paired with the 3450.

*Performance-wise, you'll probably find the CPU holds back a 570 in some games. But for the price (new or used), the 570 represents too good a value to look at a slightly lesser GPU for more/the same money.

Yes, please confirm - is this a desktop/tower, or a laptop?

Assuming desktop/tower, definitely update the BIOS to the latest available version.

What is your monitor's resolution and refresh rate? Assuming 1920x1080 (or less), then I concur with @Barty1884 - the RX 570 is hard to beat, performance/dollar.

And definitely go for 8MB RAM.

It's a desktop but the GPU says m so I'm confused too if the store duped me

Also here in India the Rx 570 and GTX 1650 go for the same price so should I go for the 1650 considering I probably will have to upgrade my power supply too for the 570
