So i recently bought the gigiabyte's geforce 960 and put it into my build and it has already gone past its return date. it is this one :https://pcpartpicker.com/part/gigabyte-video-card-gvn960wf2oc2gd

I now have some cash to upgrade the pc and I would like to buff my frame rate as much as I can. I have another port to put another graphics card so i was thinking i should add the same graphics card or get the 980. The primary focus is to get as many frames while playing any game like gta 5 or Gw2 or anything new.

Right now you have a CPU and GPU that are a good match. Your board will not support dual nvidia cards in SLI so that option is out and the CPU will hold back more powerful cards. If you are thinking upgrade I suggest CPU and motherboard since your board can barely support 8 core AMD.

If you can, definitely get the 980. A single more powerful GPU is always better than two weaker ones. If you're upgrading your GPU, you'd also want to upgrade that FX-6300 as it will bottleneck a 980 or even two 960s.

I helped a friend build a pc today and i put his mother board which is the MSI G97-G45 and an I7-4790k into my pc and i got around 20-40 frames more then i usually would. I was thinking i would buy the same cpu as him which is the I7-4790k and also get a new mother board but i know my mother board wont support is and i dont wanna dish out 200$ for the MSI motherboard so is there one that would be cheaper but not so cheap that i would lose mother board performance. If you have cheaper alternatives for the cpu id like to hear them too
