How similar is LGA 1150 to the 1155?

I read that the Lga 1150 are similar to the 1155 (my system) is it similar enough that I can buy a mobo 1150 and drop my 1155 cpu in and not have issues? It would be nice to have pci 3.0...

No 1150 has a different cpu socket to 1155

CPUs and motherboards aren't the same across them. You need to have an LGA1155 chip in an LGA1155, and vice versa.

They use the same cooler mounts, though.

nope, you can't plug a 1155 cpu in a 1150 socket and you can't use a 1150 cpu in a 1155 socket. it just doesn't work.
the extra bandwidth that comes with pci ex 3.0 isn't particularly relevant so you should not worry about it.
