Hi:

I use the Winkey+Prtsc to save photos to my windows 10 pictures/screenshots file. They've always been saved in a format I liked. I think it was JPG. Now, suddenly they're being saved as "WPS PNG Picture files". How do I change it back, so the screenshots are saved in the previous format?

Immediately before this occurred, I did create a document in Word and used WPS to save it as a PDF, but I don't know why that would cause my screenshots to be saved as WPS PNG's?

Thank you for your help!

Doug

Quicest solution would be to press PrntScr to take a screenshot, then hit winkey and open Paint. Press Ctrl-V to paste your screenshot to Paint, then save it in whichever format you like.

Or use Winkey + Shift + S then drag to select or select fullscreen from tooltip menu and save manually.

Not sure where the screenshot format is buried in Windows. I'll try to find it.
EDIT - apparently there is no registry entry for this.

Well apparently, you can't: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us...t/59bf1dfa-3dbb-4a8d-9ef0-ec7a6876a369?page=1

Fastest method is Winkey + Shift + S -> drag to select or select fullscreen from tooltip menu -> save manually. You now have the option to save as .jpg
It's a lot more clicks but if you must have .jpegs that's the only way.

You may or may not have to go to settings and disable "Automatically save screenshots". It seems to make no difference for me. *shrug*

Thanks. I figured it out. I right clicked on a photo in screenshots. Scrolled down to "opens with". For some reason "WPS Photos" was selected. I clicked on change. Set it to "Photos". It's back to the way it was!
