So a family member has been illegally downloading absolutely bucket loads of stuff and we need her to stop. From what i knew i had to type in 192.168.0.1 to access the network. But only recently i realized i am an absolute idiot and that is only for my computer, and she's still been able to access sites i thought i'd blocked. My question is how do i access her computers network and block these sites? Is it possible or do i need to just take her computer and do it from there. As you can guess i'm pretty new to this sorta stuff. The router is a Netgear CG3100 if this matters.

Thanks.

Have you been able to prove it's only effective against your computer by trying the same addresses on other computers?
Like I said before, there are ways around it, one is to use secure communications. Add an address to the "block sites" on your router, prove your computer is being blocked from that site and then change the web address so it starts "https://" and try again.

I should also point out that a lot of torrent sites simply provide a link to where the illegal downloads actually are, they don't host it themselves. It is usually hosted on hundreds, if not thousands, of personal computers around the globe. This is near impossible to block.

Yes it's password protected. I'm not trying to block her from using the internet though, just from torrent sites. Mostly sites like thepiratebay as that's the one she uses.

The modem does allow you to block websites, but if she's at all computer savvy then she can get round that. I agree that, if she can't be trusted to use the Internet responsibly, you should block all access until she learns how to behave.

Well she's probably the least computer-savvy person i know. She doesn't even know how to unplug the router. But then again i'm not too tech-savvy either lol. So could i block websites on her computer from mine? Or would i need to just take her computer and do it from hers.(cause i actually know how to do that).

Log into your router, navigate to the content filtering section, under "Block Sites" add the names of the sites you want to block and don't forget to check the "Domain Blocking" check box.

I would suggest reading the manual, section/page 3-2 onwards for more info

My only concern is that there are still ways to work around it without using something much higher end and more intrusive.

I have been trying this but that only blocks websites on my computer. When i log into the router and block sites it only blocks sites for me, but pretty much every other device in the house can still access them. I am connected directly to a wireless booster, do you think that's the cause? If i go connect my pc directly to the modem would that help you think? Thank you for the people answering and sorry for being so slow at this lol.
