The interactive user interface has been a huge advantage that comes with the Windows 10 operating system. Along with that, there are sever new custom themes, storage settings, personalization and security settings that can be customized easily. It is essential to keep your system updated, with the firewall settings perfect and to check whether any of the device or app security needs attention. Here is how you can access the update and security options in the Windows 10 system



Step 1

Single- Click the ‘Start Windows’ icon


Firstly, single-click the ‘Windows’ icon to view the primary control and setting options. You can find the icon to be located at the leftmost part of the taskbar as shown in the below image.








Step 2

Click the ‘Settings’ symbol

To view and modify the privacy, location, update, security, notifications, time, language, account, ease of access, Cortana, etc., click the ‘Settings’[ /b] symbol as shown in the below image.






Step 3

Click the ‘Update & Security’ option

In the ‘Settings Window’, single-click the ‘Update & Security’ option to view all the update and security features available for your Windows 10 system. The Update & Security option will allow you to modify the default update and security level settings.






Step 4

Click the ‘Windows Update’ option

In the ‘Update & Security’ window, you will find options including windows update, windows security, backup, delivery optimization, troubleshoot, recovery on the left part of the window. Here, click the ‘Windows Update’ option.






Step 5

Click the ‘View Update History’ option

In the ‘Windows’ update section, click the ‘View Update History’ option to view all the updates that has already taken place.






Step 6

The update history is displayed

Once, you click the ‘View Update History’ link, the ‘The Update history’ of Windows 10 is displayed.





Step 7’

Click the ‘Windows Security’ option

In the ‘Update & Security’ window, click the ‘Windows Security’ option to view the security options available for your Windows 10 system.






Step 8

‘Status of the windows security is displayed’

Scroll down to find the ‘Status of the Windows Security as shown in the below pic. You can also find whether any action is required related to Device security, firewall, app & browser control, device performance, family options, etc.
