Hello,
I had a p4 pc with 40 gb hard disk.as my pc has the capacity to 80gb.i want to add a second 40gb disc as a storage device only. How are the connections, selection of primary master, slave secondary master ,slave etc.any jumper is needed for primary and secondary hard disc.how?

I assume you have an IDE hard disc? Basically, you set the jumper on the back of the drive to slave, then install the drive in the case and hook the drive up to the open connector on same ribbon cable as your other hard drive, and hook up the power.
Once Windows is running again, you go into the disk management app, and partition and format the drive, which is now ready for use.
