Hi, I have a Samsung 7 series Smart TV, connected to a Sony AR receiver via EARC, I also have a PC with a TV/Monitor connected via HDMI.

My question is how to listen to my music via the AR receiver, (6.1.2 speaker config ) using my PC, and with the Smart TV switched off?

My AR receiver is a Sony STR DH790, my PC is a Custom PC Desktop-Windows 10 64 bit-CPU Intel Core i7-3770k MoBo EVGA Z77 FTW-Mem Kingston 16gb (2x8gb) 2133Mhz DDR3 HyperX Predator, MSI RADEON RX580 8gb OC, PSU Enermax Platinax EPM 1000EWT Special OC Edition Samsung 7 Series 55" Smart TV/PC Monitor Samsung T24E390TX TV/PC monitor.

Thanks in Anticipation.

Hi, do you mean #6 on this image?
With optical audio cable (toslink).

Connect digital audio output from motherboard to digital input on Sony receiver.

Typically, the PC outputs audio via its HDMI hookup, so u have to tell it no-no-no-no, output my audio via optical, which in lots of Mobo, is the one labeled high definition blah-blah, and make it the DEFAULT.
Hi the only way to get it to work is to pull the HDMI, if I want to use my TV as a monitor I have to reconnect it.
