I have upgraded my system with Asus Z170 mobo (and 6600k processor) and I would like to continue using my old Win7 installation (NO FORMATTING)

But since two days it is impossible to boot Windoes (I get the blue screnn since, I think, the installation doesn't heve the mobo drivers)

I tried to make REPAIR with the installation disc but it didnt work

I have read a procedure wth DISM command from command prompt to add the drivers to the installation but I can not understand which driver I have to download and use ... from Asus site the Chipset drivers are autoinstalling exe but without the .inf files ....

anyone have had the same problem or know how to repair my old installed Windows 7 with the new mobo drivers?

thanks

To get rid of all the "ghosts" left from the previous install you should do a clean install and stop putting off the inevitable ... Sorry that is just the way the world is when you change motherboards.
