Hi guys my question is about connecting the Sata power cable to my new SSD
The only other power cable already goes into my HDD so what do do to attach another one?
I have the data cables from my new mobo that i didnt use yet so i can use that i think but the power cable situation seems like i cant find an answer anywhere
Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi robert higgs
you have a few options open to you if you don't have another sata power connector from your psu
1. you could purchase a sata power y splitter something like this

2. or a molex to sata power like this ,

or something similar will solve your problem fairly cheaply and you should be able to get these type of leads almost anywhere
I can see the end of the word OEGEN and its 470W
That adaptor wont help me power both the HDD and SSD will it? Like I need to add another sata power cable in there or buy a PSU with extra ones on it correct? thanks Mem

if your absolutely sure then the way i would go about it is just buy that 4$ adapter. Plug it into the molex off the power supply and plug that into the HDD. Have the SATA power off the psu into SSD. Or vice verse. That would be cheapest and easiest. Other route is to get a new power supply with multiple sata connections
