Hello, I have a 120 GB SSD, 1 TB HDD, and a 1 TB Portable HDD. I am looking into getting a 500 GB M.2. My goal is to be able to play games, record, stream, edit/render, search the web, and adobe stuff the fastest but also with the least wear and tear on the drives. If I had to rank what I do the most to least frequency, I would say Run OS, Google/Gaming, Record/Edit/Render/Photoshop, and Stream.

My plan as of now is to have my OS and antivirus on the 120 gb SSD, my games/programs/editing on the 500 GB M.2, recording software/downloads/google on 1 TB HDD, and rendering videos/miscellaneous files to 1 TB Portable HDD.

I would appreciate any advice and tips on how to allocate my data better. Thank you

Edit: I also use Discord and Audacity

Where will backups be saved?

Base the allocations on the need for read/write speed(s) that match the software/application requirements.

You seem to be doing that already to some extent.

Set it up as planned and try things out.

Just be aware that administratively it may become cumbersome to keep track of application files and associated data files if they end up on different drives; you will need to manage the applicable default paths.

I have my os backed on a flash drive.
