How To Allow Remote Access To Your Windows 10 Computer



Remote Desktop Protocol or RDP is a feature in Windows 10 that allows you to use your PC remotely from another PC. In order to do this, you need to change the settings of your computer to allow remote access. The RDP feature is usually turned off in a Windows 10 PC. Read on to learn how to turn it back on and allow remote access.

Step 1
Click on the ’search bar’ located at the bottom left side of your Windows 10 PC screen.



Step 2

Type 'Remote access' into the search box and all the search results will be displayed.



Step 3

Select the result that reads 'Allow remote access to your computer'. This should be right at the top of the search results.



Step 4

The system properties dialog box will now be open with the 'Remote' tab selected. In case the tab is not already selected you can do so by clicking on it.



Step 5

At the top of the 'Remote' tab you will find an option titled 'Allow remote assistance connections to the computer'. Click on the box next to it and a tick mark will appear inside the box.



Step 6

Now at the bottom of the dialog box perform the same function for the option 'Allow remote connections to this computer'. Tick the box below it and click on the 'Ok' button.



‘If you have followed the steps correctly, remote access to your computer should now be available. This feature will allow you to access your PC from afar through an internet connection and your Windows password.’
