The OLED display, the thunderbolt ports, and the touch bar are some of the unique outstanding features of the MacBook Pro. In addition to these, this specific model from Apple is much thinner and lightweight than the other models. The touch bar is highly useful as the control and customization shortcut options get displayed on the touch bar based on the application you chose to open. Sometimes, you might want to display only the ‘Function keys’ always when a specific app is used. Here is how you can ensure that the function keys are always displayed for a specific app on the touch bar of your MacBook Pro.
Click the ‘Mac Apple icon’
Foremost, click the ‘Mac Apple icon’ which is found at the left corner of the title bar of your MacBook Pro as shown in the below image. You will find the primary control setting options of your MacBook Pro.
Click the ‘System Preference’ option
In the list of options in the Apple menu, click the [b] ‘System Preferences’ [/B]options to view the system customization and personalization options for your MacBook Pro system.
Click the ‘Keyboard’ option
In the ‘System Preferences’ window, setting options like spotlight, keyboard, mouse, notifications, general, displays, touch id, extensions, etc. are present. ‘Click the keyboard’ option as shown in the below pic.
Click the ‘Shortcuts’ tab
In the ‘Keyboard’ settings window, you will find options relates to keyboard functionalities, shortcuts, text, input sources, and dictations. Here, ‘Click the Shortcuts’ tab as shown below.
Click the ‘Function Keys’ option
Under the ‘Shortcuts’ tab, click the ‘Function Keys’ option from the list of MacBook Pro shortcut setting options. You can ensure to display the function keys for a specific application.
Press the ‘+’ button
After clicking the ‘Function Keys’, Press the ‘+’ button as shown below to add an application of your choice for which you desire to display the function keys in the touch bar of your MacBook Pro.
Select the ‘Application’ and click the ‘Add’ button
Scroll through the list of applications and ‘Select the application’ for which you want to always display the function keys on the touch bar. After the selection, ‘Click the Add button’ as shown below. Here, the ‘Luminar’ application is chosen.
