Hey,
I am planning to build my PC a month from now. I've done my research on a lot of parts and understand them quite well. However, I've been stuck on the motherboard. Looking through reviews of MSI, Gigabyte, and ASUS mobos, there seems to be a large amount of DOA's, malfunctions, heating issues, etc. I'm just wondering why this is - simply the nature of mobos? More importantly, I'm really looking for suggestions of motherboards I can look into.
Here is the planned build for reference:

AMD FX-6300 3.5GHz 6-Core
G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1866
Sapphire Radeon R9 270X 4GB
Corsair 200R ATX Mid Tower

Thanks for all the help =D

Most reviews are posted by people that have had bad experiences, there arent as many people who have greats boards posing.

As for the board, I recommend ASUS, and for your CPU, the ASUS M5A99/M5A97 or similar.

Thanks for the info. Does the mobo affect the video card/ RAM that much? Sorry I'm new to this process.

It affects RAM depending on what speed the motherboard supports and the RAM's speed. Example: A RAM stick @ 1866Mhz in a motherboard that only supports up to 1600Mhz, will either run at the supported speed, run unstable, or not run at all.

Thanks for the suggestions. May I ask why you recommend the Pro R2.0? I'm probably not going to Crossfire so is it necessary to dish out an additionally $30 for on a motherboard? (My budget is around $900 and with the ASUS M5A99FX PRO R2.0, I'm hitting $939).

Well if you're not going to CrossFire, then go for the M5A99X EVO R2.0.
