How to appropriately connect risers to motherboard?

So I have MSI gaming carbon pro ac Z370 motherboard.
Here are the specifications.

Here is the picture of the motherboard.

I dont know the terminology so i will just try to explain my question. I see I have 3 "big" slots for graphic cards and 3 "little" which are the default ones for the risers. I want to maximize my number of graphic cards and 3 would be the maximal number since i have three ports for the risers and that closes the option to add graphics card direct on the motherboard because there would no place for them.

So, can i connect risers to the "big" or "wide" slots on the motherboard? That would be a total of 6 cards connected with risers and it would be great!

Sorry for the dumb explanation but i dont know exactly which ports are PCI, PCIe, PCIex1, PCIex16... So i insterted the link. Hopefully someone can help me, thanks :)

The "big" slots are x16 physically...... they may be electrically wired for x8 speeds.

The "small" slots are x1.... may be wired electrically for x4.

I'm assuming this is for mining, so the wired speeds won't matter - x1 (the lowest possible) is sufficient per-card..... assuming you can power them with a separate PSU.

Yes, "smaller" PCIe cards/risers can be utilized in "bigger" slots (although not vice-versa for obvious reasons).

The maximum number of cards you can install in that board is 6 strictly with risers. You *may* be able to utilize the M.2 slot(s) with adapters, for additional cards.

Thank you very much :) No need for configuring the M.2, 6 is more than i need for now :) And yes, its for mining. I have a "gaming pc" and started to mine with my graphics card. Since I dont have the space needed for a rig, I would just connect cards to the motherboard in a pc and build a stand on the top of the case for the cards (the case is in the corner, so its covered by walls on two sides).

Cheers!

It looks like this now. Can I add a card with a riser to this port?
