Hi all,
I have Gigabyte Z390 Aorus master motherboard, I got two external temp sensors with it (Some kind of black cables). Normally I wouldn't need to use them but my problem is that the built in smart fan software in the UEFI doesn't support reading directly from GPU (only pciex16 sensor next to the pciex slot, but it's not indicative of the real GPU temperature).

1. What is the best place to attach the sensor to the GPU without opening it up? I really don't want to mess with the card. and how exactly to physically attach it? (with what)
2.After attaching the sensor to the GPU I just need to attach the other end to one of the external temp sensors headers on the board? just want to make sure..

I want to measure the GPU temp so I can control my bottom front case fan accordingly.

Any help and advice would be very appreciated.

EDIT: Forgot to mention that I have RTX 2080 TI (Gigabyte aorus xtreme) with backplate.

Solution
If they're small enough, super glue a temp sensor to one of the heatpipes on the GPU close to the base. That will give an accurate reading.
