how to avoid blu screen of death

i recently got that on my start up.
Had to reset everything and clean install win 7 AGAIN (how annoying)
how do i prevent that.
please help me coz i dont want to go through that all over again

1) Using high quality pc components.
2) Update all the drivers regularly, also the BIOS when you add the new hardware.
3) Using antivirus software
4) Clean up the PC by the utility software like CCleaner http://download.cnet.com/CCleaner/
5) when you are online , just be smart, even you have the antivirus software.

how do i update my drivers???
i use avg internet security and avg tune up is that ok???

For example, for intel system, like the chipset driver https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/20775 for AMD chipset driver http://support.amd.com/en-us/download/chipset?os=Windows%208%20-%2032

the avg antivirus is good, but I don't use the avg tune up, but I think it will be fine.
