hello to everybody,
there is someone who can explain me how to extract a working firmware from a ssd samsung 850 evo and to put into another one (same capacity and model) that looks dead in os but is still recognized from motherboard?
thanks

This is truly unfortunate. :(

Recovering data from a failed SSD is significantly harder than recovering data from a failed drive due to the different type of technology used for both devices. Unfortunately in your case, having in mind everything you've tried and got nowhere with recognizing the SSD, a data recovery company might be your only option.

You could still give it a go with data recovery software, to see if you have any luck, since the drive is recognized by the BIOS/UEFI of the computers you've tried it with: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/id-1644496/lost-data-recovery.html & http://pcsupport.about.com/od/filerecovery/tp/free-file-recovery-programs.htm
Hi Marco and welcome to the community! :)

I don't think that what you are trying to do is possible. If there are any firmware updates available for that SSD model, I'm sure that you you'll be able to find them on the SSD manufacturer's website.
I'd also recommend that you get in touch with the customer support for further info, if you're having trouble with finding what you are looking for.

Have you checked if the drive is recognized by Disk Management and Device Manager? You should also try it out with a different computer, or at least with a different SATA port and SATA cables on yours, to see if you have any luck with the SSD then. You could also try testing it with a diagnostic tool, to see if it's recognized and if you can find out more on what might be wrong with the drive.

Hope that helps. Please let me know how it goes.

HI boogieman , and thanks for your answer

unfortunately the SSD isn't recognised at all in two different PC and in three differents OS (win 7, 10 and Ubuntu )

but when i check bios i can see it, i need to restore file from email that are not in the backup , when i asked samsung a sort of restoring firmware, they told me that they change my drive, but all my data are lost

then i asked to an agency that recover data in a white room ( i don't know that is the correct way to define that kind of lab) and they want something like 1000 € to restore it,

i know that is their job and surely that kind of restore is very impportant in many situation, but, is too expensive for my pockets and i was checking another way

The most annoing thing is that two bios recognised it and in the os it vanishes , not device manager, not disk manager, nothing at all
