I want to block wow on our routers as I need a certain someone to study more. How do I do this. My router is Huwaei HG533. Any help would be appreciate. Quite a noob so I don't know how to go about this, I only know how to port forward.

World of Warcraft uses TCP port numbers 1119, 3724, 6112, 6113, 6114, 1119, 1120, 80 and 4000 to play. If you close 1119 and 3724, you'd block the game.
You router would need either some form of firewall or parental controls. For wow you only need a list of the login server IP you do not have block all the game servers ip. There likely is a list of wow login servers and their ip addresses.

This router is suppose to have firewall features but their manual does not show anything so you are going to have to look through the screens.

If you get really stuck software like K9 is a free parental control software that runs on the end pc instead of the router.

How would I "block" them, if you could help me with that, I would be grateful.

@Mussyo, you happen to have well-UNknown router. Get into your router' web page, and see whether you have something like "Parental control".

Although - if that someone who needs to study more is your dependent, I think other, non-technical tools would work much better. I had a friend who used to take the DSL modem with him during the day 😉

Systems and security> windows firewall > advanced settings. Click on outbound.
On the right click new rule.
Block the ports that are listed above. Make sure they are blocked for public network.
If you do that that PC will not be able to connect to those ports, and in turn will not be able to communicate with wow servers.
