How To Change DNS In Windows 10 System

Changing our Windows 10 DNS server is useful for a plethora of reasons. The steps to do it are very easy and can be done from the configuration menu on your Windows 10 with just some mouse clicks. Follow the simple steps of this tutorial and change your DNS server anytime and anywhere effortlessly.

Step 1
Access the ‘Control Panel’ on your Windows 10

Type ’Control panel’ in the Search bar which is at the bottom of the screen and the option will appear on the top of your screen. Click on it to access the settings.

Step 2
Enter ‘Network and Sharing Centre’

Type ’Network and Sharing Centre’ on the top right side of your screen. The menu with all the options you need is going to populate on the top left side of your screen right away. Click on ‘Network and Sharing Centre’.

Step 3
Go to ‘Change advanced sharing settings’

On the top left section of your screen, you will find an option called ‘Change advanced sharing settings’, click on it.

Step 4
Choose your active network

View and choose your active network on which you are working.

Step 5
Click on ‘Properties’ for the selected active network

Under the selected network connection select Properties in the pop-window

Step 6
Go to your internet protocol properties

A list of items will be available for the selected connection. Choose ’Internet protocol version 4(TCP/IvP4)’[/b ]and click on the option ’Properties’ .

Step 7
Add the new DNS Server address

The lower part of the menu has two options: to select the DNS address automatically, or to enter it manually. Select the one called ‘Use the following DNS server address’ and populate the fields manually with your own DNS address number. Once you have done it, press ’OK’ to save the changes.

NOTE: Make sure you have a correct and working DNS address to change, before following this procedure.
